In the exhibition Wanderlust - Watamula Dordrecht’s Museum shares contemporary art about wanderlust and expansionism, for better or worse. Six artists, each connected to the Netherlands in their own way, depict a quest across the border, with a sense of beauty, but also with an open eye for traces of destruction. They take us to the horizon, uncover hidden roots and zoom in on the rich fabric of cultures. Curated by Wilma Sütö conservator of modern and contemporary art of the Dordrecht Museum and part of Wanderlust. Nederlandse kunstenaars op reis 1800-1900.
9 July – 6 November 2022 – Museum Schiedam, NL
Many people have recently discovered nature close to home. We too have turned our gaze to the environment and present the Living Landscape exhibition. There you can see how artists such as Jan van Goyen, Jan Sluijters and Charley Toorop depicted the landscape in South Holland's Maas Delta from the late sixteenth century to the present. Each room also contains contemporary work selected by guest curator Trudi van Zadelhoff.
16 Juli – 25 September 2022 – Museum Ijsselstein, NL
Mens maakt landschap maakt mens is a cross-media art project about the Green Heart, initiated by investigative journalist Dennis l'Ami and media artist Arnold Hoogerwerf. They know the area like the back of their hands and see many historical developments that fit into a larger context and are also very topical. The search for identity, climate, immigration and administrative culture are four examples of themes that not only had a local but also an (inter)national importance in the history of the Green Heart. Curated by Amy Stenvert.
